Understand Clearout Credits

Clearout credits are the essential unit we use to measure and charge for each definitive, actionable result, so you only pay when you get value.

For example: Verifying an email address might lead to result as unknown status, since its not a definitive outcome this service action will not be charged. However, if the email address is verified as valid or invalid or catch-all, then it will be considered as billable service action and charged accordingly.

What Is a Billable Service Action?

A billable service action refers to any service action performed on Clearout that result in a definitive and actionable outcome. Credits are only charged when Clearout service action returns useful results like a valid/invalid email, a found contact, or a successful phone number enrichment.

We do not charge for:

  • Unknown results (e.g., undelivered server response, no data found)
  • Duplicates within the same uploaded list

  • The above credit charges apply uniformly across all usage modes, including API requests, app usage, and any third-party native integrations.

Do Credits Expire?

No, your purchased credits never expire. And any unused credits in your subscription roll over automatically to the next month. However, discounted credits may come with an expiry date, subject to the terms of the specific deal.

Refund Policy

You may request a refund within 30 days of purchase if the results do not align with expected deliverability standards (e.g., bounce rate exceeds 10-20%). If approved, refunds will be issued only for the impacted email addresses that resulted in bounces, not for the entire list.

Refund eligibility is assessed based on both usage and outcome. As 100 free credits are provided to evaluate the service before committing to a plan, refund requests will not be considered if more than 25% of the purchased credits have been used at the time of the request.

  • Subscriptions are non-refundable.
  • Credits do not expire, ensuring continued value from your purchase. However, credits purchased at a discount may come with an expiry date, subject to the terms of the specific deal.

Important to Note:

  • Emails sent to the Safe-to-Send (Guaranteed Deliverables) category must be sent within 24 hours from the time of verification to qualify; messages sent after this timeframe will not be eligible for a refund under the deliverability guarantee, as the status of an email can change anytime and is beyond Clearout’s control.
  • Certain domains, including educational and institutional (.edu) domains, free service providers (e.g., Yahoo, AOL), and mail servers behind aggressive anti-spam settings like Office 365, are not covered under the 97% deliverability guarantee, since the recipient servers claim they are valid but may still bounce when sent to.
